Save the Orbics! You may not care much about them REALLY, but deep down, Trio: The Great Settlement will appeal to you and keep you playing long after you should.
Orbics are little round creatures encased, for whatever reason, inside little crates. Drop them from the top of the screen and line up three or more of the same color and the crates explode, freeing the Orbics.
The usual Match 3 stuff rears its head, like silver crates (two matches) or gold (three matches), but there's some interesting twists. The entire physics is unusual: crates stick to other crates and will pull them over. They're sort of like jelly cubes in the way they behave. This makes for some strategic challenges, and matches you're sure you've messed up when you release a crate often come off after all.
Treasure chests open after several nearby matches, releasing gold you can use to upgrade the Orbics' settlement, with houses, a circus, a tavern and other things to make their life more fun.
With not just one, but two, settlements to complete, Trio is a fun and lively Match 3 challenge that's got good long-term appeal. Get the FREE 1hr trial from Big Fish Games and find out for yourself.
