The Clumsys 2 - Butterfly Effect has such a great premise, nice graphics, and a mad scientist; how can it go wrong? I'll name the ways it left me cold. And believe me, I wanted to like it.

Grandpa Clumsy, who has now proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that he should be put out to pasture, has changed the course of history and plunged humanity into another Stone Age.

After going back in time, he has a close call with a dinosaur and causes a ripple effect, obliterating all technology and advances of mankind.

Helen, good woman that she is, goes back through the ages to repair all of the wonderful inventions and get us our antibiotics and cell phones and cars, thank you very much.

As you jump through time, you see the periods that brought about the combustion engine and the telescope.

You must search for certain important pieces and solve puzzles. And remember to remove the objects that don't belong, or the consequences will be dire. Direr than they already are, anyway.

I expected to see a variety of time periods, at the very least, but I disappointingly only saw two.

The scenes are very samey after a while, and the plot doesn't ever really take off.

I'm not really into shadow finds, and that's what all of the objects were.

It just seems contrived to be difficult without being satisfying. Putting together the inventions was entertaining.

All in all The Clumsy 2 - Butterfly Effect was okay, but disappointing in that it held so much promise.

I really felt the developers could have done a lot more with it. Unfortunately, this game is missing the elements that make time fly - like when you're having fun.
