Simplz Zoo

Simplz Zoo is a fun, cute game that is surprisingly well featured. The Zoo scene is particularly impressive, with zoom-in graphics and a lot of depth to the add-ons.

You open a zoo and must populate it with animals and other attractions, to take you from 1000th most popular to #1 zoo in the world! This is done by earning cash, building materials and workers in the Match 3 sections of the game.

If you've played any of the more complex Match 3 games, then locked tiles, tiles with a layer behind them, or two layers behind them, special bonus tiles and so on will be very familiar. Simplz Zoo lays on plenty of other complexities and sometimes you'll wish it was simpler. It's easy to overlook a special power or option simply because there are so many of them. Unusually, you can move tiles diagonally.

Sometimes you'll have to lead an animal to safety, which means clearing objects from its patch by matching them. Other times you'll have to open crates, which earn you add-ons for your Zoo. Clear the level and you can get back to your Zoo and add the stuff you earned. Make a big match of six or more tiles and you earn a trophy.

It's a pretty full Tycoon-style game, without the financial stress. If the designers had ramped this up a notch, it could have qualified as a full Tycoon game, rather than an extra to a Match 3.

Simplz Zoo is a terrific game that will appeal to kids as well as adults. Younger children will find it a little too hard to clear the Match 3 games though.
