Mystery Masterpiece - The Moonstone is a beautiful-looking game with gorgeous rooms to search. It has elegant, atmospheric background music that perhaps gets a little repetitive, but with no time limits, you can enjoy a relaxed HOG. Or for more of a challenge, you can set it in time-limit mode.

You're a detective in search of an aristocrat's family heirloom - the Moonstone. Your job is to investigate nine suspects and look for clues in four rooms pertaining to said suspects… that's 36 rooms in total! You'll certainly get your hidden object fix with this one.

Most of the hidden objects are not too hard to find, although you have to be annoyingly EXACT with your cursor, or it won't 'find' the object. Some objects are really hard to see, and I've clicked on them by mistake and found it was an earring, not a bracelet.

The objects are all relevant to what you'd find in a Victorian boudoir or study. Every couple of rooms you find a clue and have to find a tool that will unlock it in another room.

If you like interaction with your HOG, you might be disappointed. Mystery Masterpiece - The Moonstone is a straightforward hidden object game that is moderately challenging and moves along nicely. It is very much like the Agatha Christie mystery games series; keeps you nicely busy for a decent amount of time.
