While it's not as polished as Life Quest, the game it most resembles, My Life Story is possibly just a bit more fun. Both games challenge you to make the most of your time and better yourself, but My Life Story feels freer, gives you more rope to hang yourself by.
Just like Life Quest, you begin at the bottom of the heap and must find a job, improve your education and move out of your parents' basement and into your own place. The city you live in is laid out in a grid. Each location has multiple purposes (some of them won't be available at the beginning of the game, you'll need to unlock them). You might exercise, eat, buy stuff or even have a job at each building.

My Life Story doesn't challenge you directly in the way that Life Quest does. Instead, you have to achieve long-term career and education goals, while making up your own mind about what else you do with your time. Eat junk food, work out, relax with friends or buy crap for your apartment.
Life Cards are a great innovation. You are awarded a Life Card for persisting at something: be it drinking coffee, jogging, socializing or even lounging about at home! Life Cards have various benefits. You may only hold three at once. If you gain a fourth card, you must discard one of the four. This gives an extra element of strategy to the gameplay. Do you activate your Bookworm card and focus on education this week, or ditch it and visit the spa?
