Matchmaker: Joining Hearts, although charming, is really too easy and is not very memorable in the HOG rep. If it had had a bit more personality and drive, the review would have been different.
Helen Jones is a nice, little old lady with a flair for matching single people up. Her theory, certainly an interesting one, is that you can read a person by analyzing the objects in their environment.
In this game, Helen focuses the 'joining of hearts' by using her detecting skills and investigating people's houses to figure who they are. Through a hidden object list loaded with food items, you may see that the person is a gourmet.
After Helen's taken notes, she has the two people choose a gift (this entails another HO scene) and put the pieces of it together. When the two potential lovebirds go on their first date, you must put some items back in the scene.
This is the repeating theme for all of the matched couples in this game.
Matchmaker: Joining Hearts might not be your perfect match, unless you're into nice, dull interfaces. I think the romance might fall flat for gamers who expect a little more from their HOG.
