Jane Angel - Templar Mystery is a fairly decent game, with some nice details that set it apart, but overall feels a bit put together at the last minute and dialogue that seems written by a gorilla - a non-English speaking gorilla, that is.
You are Jane Angel, FBI, and you've been called to discover where some of the famous Knights' Templar artifacts may be hidden. You travel the world and solve clues that lead to this great discovery.
Okay, maybe the initial verdict was a bit harsh. I did love certain elements of the game. The hidden object games were interesting and original. Sometimes you had to search for objects in a series of photos you'd just put together, or from old manuscripts as well as the usual suspect's rooms. You have what looks like a 15th century painting of Columbus' men invading a native Indian village, and you have to pick out all objects that don't belong to the time-period.
The mini-games are cute and varied; there's one type where you must spot the differences on a split screen. The HO rooms are all scrollable, so you can scroll out of view of the object, the word fades out, allowing you to sometimes deduce where something may or may not be.
The dialogue is atrocious. Some of the sentences don't even make sense, and the storyline suffers. I stopped reading all that soon into it. The game is also quite short.
Jane Angel - Templar Mystery is still a good time; experienced HO gamers might be disappointed by the plot and characters, but it's got some different elements that are fresh enough.
