Nickelodeon fans will no doubt be well aware of iCarly, so the prospect of a hidden object game must be appealing. Unfortunately, iCarly: I Dream In Toons has some faults which make it less playable than it might have been, but it still is worth checking out.

There's some kind of plot to unravel -- honestly, every single HOG has something like this and none of them are worth repeating -- and you must solve the mystery by playing hidden object and other puzzles.

Graphics are nicely themed to a loft apartment/studio that iCarly occupies. And the hidden objects are also themed to this environment. You'll be expected to find CDs, phones, animals and all manner of items in your quest to solve the case.

You have a super-magnifier and a sort of ultra-violet viewing device, which will help you to find the object you're searching for. A useful feature is the silhouette -- at bottom left, you can see what shape the object you're looking for is. A nice touch.

Unfortunately, some of the objects are totally invisible if you don't use the viewer -- this seems to me to be ridiculous. Other objects are virtually impossible to spot, as they are layered on top of or underneath something. You'll be using hints a lot. All the way through the game, a super-annoying guy voices over the cutscenes. You'll be skipping past him before long.

If this game sounds like something you (or your teenager) would enjoy, then you're going to have to get it from GameHouse by joining Fun Ticket -- it's a GameHouse exclusive.
