A ghostly dog, a juicy, yet disturbing young woman and a butler who's not all that he seems are just some of the characters you'll encounter in Vampireville. And, while the lack of lip synching will annoy you, the cut scenes will nonetheless be enjoyable as they set up the story.
You're a real estate agent and have to value an old mansion. The kicker is, your colleague went to do it before you, but went insane. Part of the charm of the game is how button-down straight the hero is and how dense he is about not seeing the truth about the house!

Funny story aside, Vampireville is a fairly routine HOG with some extra elements you don't often see. For example, hidden object scenes often involve moving items to see behind them. You are not penalized for clicking around the scene, in fact, you'll have to, just to see what can be opened or shifted.
Unfortunately this innovation is balanced by the lack of clear explanation of the current scene's goals. More than once I wasted a hint because I had no idea what to do. Once the hint had pointed out an item I needed, it was easier to make progress.
The usual assortment of mini-games breaks up the HOG scenes and keeps things interesting. Graphically I found the mini-games in Vampireville to be better than average, but the actual levels to be about the norm.
If you love Vampires and enjoy original scripts, then Vampireville is worth trying for an hour at least. Unlike some games, you'll be sorry when the free trial ends and will want to play on.
