Heartwild Solitaire is a beautifully rendered card game that reminds me more of mahjongg than your typical solitaire. I found it relaxing to play and has an appealing tarot-style theme.

If you actually like to read the storyline in all your games, you'll find that this one centers on a woman who wants to improve her life through the guidance of tarot cards (okay, that's a bit flaky, but to each his own).

If you don't feel like doing all that reading, you'll realize that the story aspect is just an interruption to give variety to separate the individual rounds.

Every level shows a gorgeous spread of cards forming some specific design.

The goal: pair up cards with matching numbers, like in mahjongg. if your match is of the same suit, your score is higher.

You'll want to work with the cards laid out in front of you before getting into your draw pile.

The faster you match, the more your score meter fills up. Unfortunately, gathering points has no reward or trophy or anything.

There's no more challenge to the game than that.

You do have some power-ups like reshuffles and undos, so it's easy to win all the levels. It's a bit too easy, really.

Heartwild Solitaire could have won more hearts had it used different games to play. It's an easy way to pass a relaxing time, not more.
