Ready to be scared? SOMEbody's got to brave the haunted house and it HAD to be you. Haunted Manor: Lord of Mirrors is HOG heaven, or hell.
There aren't too many surprises here, but what is done is done very well. You'll have to move from location to location, solving puzzles and finding items, all the while being bugged by phantasms, ghosts and spooky shades.
Some of the sound effects are truly spine-tingling and plenty of horror movie cliches have been employed to great effect!
The game is a huge file download, which may be a problem if you have a slow Internet connection, but otherwise there's very little not to like about this. I was disappointed to see the same hidden object game setup re-used in the very first encounter -- that will happen again before the end.
Haunted Manor: Lord of Mirrors is a very solid HOG that does little to advance the genre (or solve your insomnia problems, if you're of a nervous disposition!). Try the FREE 1hr trial from Big Fish Games and make up your own mind about it.
