If you've grown up playing the board Game of Life, then this version might be strangely familiar and alien to you.

You get into your car and drive through the great road of Life; college, career, marriage, kids and so on until your retirement.

The hazards and obstacles you encounter are mostly of a financial nature (not very Buddhist), and the goal of the game is to retire with more money than anyone else. Of course, life throws its curve balls throughout. You get snagged on school fees, medical bills, and even lawsuits.

There are two modes in Hasbro Game of Life: regular and enhanced. The latter gives you mini-games which might determine other elements of the game. For example, the winner of a memory puzzle will have a better outcome in court if and when there's a lawsuit. Although not obvious at first, the enhanced mode is more exciting.

The board is set out in a really cute almost-3-D style with nice graphics. The STOP signs indicate a critical turning point or event in your life. And there are your much-awaited Paydays, of course.

This is a good game for 7 to 12 year-olds, and can teach them a bit about the responsibilities of being an adult. A good, solid game that's fun for the whole family.
