Mixing potions by matching 3 has been done before, so it's no surprise that Magic Match Adventures feels very familiar. There's a lot to do here and it's fun to play, but you probably won't remember this game for long.

You must save a little green bunch of folks from evil little green folks who are teasing them with magic spells. In a nice touch, each level is preceded by an animated scene showing a 3D view of a village. A bad guy casts a spell (and laughs delightfully!) before you have to enter the match 3 section and undo his nasty work.

Here's where the game is less exciting. It's a diamond-shaped play field with tiles on it. Match three or more by click-dragging a chain. They burst and more replace them from the sides. Match enough of one type to earn a potion; collect potions for each type to progress.

Spells can be earned by collecting mana. There are ice tiles, boxed tiles and coins and magic power-ups later on, but when all's said and done, the game is very derivative. Well done and addictive, nonetheless.
