ARRRRR! If you've not been pirating for a while and want to rough it with the scurvy sea dogs (no pun intended), then Jolly Rover is a must-play game. It's a full, rich adventure game, loaded with nice touches and brought to life with fun cartoon graphics and excellent voice acting.

You play a posh hound taken by pirates. Now you must rough it, posing as a pirate to escape and then solving more and more complex puzzles in your bid to get your old life back.

Your only friend is a parrot, freed from its cage on board the pirate vessel. He'll help you with hints (quite cryptic ones), but if you feed him a cracker, he'll solve an entire puzzle for you. Grab more crackers during the game to use for later hints.

This is a classic point and click style that's quite rare among the modern download adventure games. You can interact with most of each scene, though only a few items are of genuine interest. Beg, borrow, steal, sing, dance and cook your way to victory!

You'll also need to turn your paw to voodoo magic, but don't worry, there's no really offensive content here. It's family-friendly stuff all round. However, don't expect young kids to play this alone: it's a challenging adventure. A good choice for families to play together.
