There's great-looking games in the HOG world -- and Eternity is one of them. The time travel theme means no two levels look alike, but they all have fantastic graphics. Your eyes will be feasting.

The gameplay is not too shabby either. Much more adventure than hidden object, it relies on you finding items in the landscape and using them elsewhere. The HOG screens are short and simple compared to Eternity's peers and barely slow you down. Some of the puzzles are too easy, but that's okay, because others are fiendish. Mini-games break up the action too.

Each time zone has a flavor of the period, though interestingly the designers picked up on myth and legend as well as historical fact. This was a good decision, as it allows for a more interesting mix of scenarios. Build a pyramid, or help Perseus defeat Medusa... it's all in a day's work!

The music -- which begins on inspired form -- sometimes wavers towards the cheesy end of the scale and there are times when the gameplay is a little glitchy: a pair of handcuffs would not pick up unless I clicked on exactly the right place.

But few gamers will care. Eternity may not last forever, but it will certainly give you many hours of pleasure if you decide to upgrade after playing the first hour free.
