Escape the Museum 2 is of the rare species of sequels that are actually better than the original. I have a feeling the developers listened to game players' criticisms and did something about it.

We enter at the aftermath of a devastating earthquake that's reduced the city to dangerous rubble and crumbling buildings.

David has to make it across town to rescue his wife and daughter who are trapped at the museum.

It's an exciting premise for a game, but I would have liked the option of skipping through some of the storyline narration and dialogue.

You must figure out what the best path is and search for objects that will help you in your mission.

There are a variety of side missions that I loved, and the eerie calm of the earthquake-hit town had great atmosphere.

For example, you can search for the owners of lost pets, or even a child. The graphics were way nicer in this sequel as well.

The hidden object searches had a good variety of difficulty; there was always some challenge to each scene, but with plenty of hints, I didn't get stuck as I might have.

There was a certain logic of the clues given and they were put together in a way that was quite original.

Escape the Museum 2 is one of those games that some will love and others won't. I found myself on the side of those enjoying the ride.
