Escape The Lost Kingdom

If Indiana Jones had had kids and took them along with him on his adventures, the result might have been Escape The Lost Kingdom. It's a smart, pretty game with a lot of gameplay and plenty of variety, though maybe too easy for advanced HOG fans.

The Reed family are on location in Egypt when they are trapped inside an ancient tomb. You have to help them all to escape and uncover the mystery of the ancient Mummy.

There are several nice elements that make this game stand out from the ever-growing crowd in this genre. First, the family don't always get to work as a team. Sometimes, you'll find them separated and it's up to you to choose who to use next.

Then there's the special modes the kids have: Glyph Vision and Time Amulet. Glyph Vision helps you to interact with each location without distraction, while Time Amulet lets you see what the location looked like long ago to help solve puzzles. This, in addition to the optional 3D mode, if you have the required red and green glasses, show originality and attention to detail you just don't see elsewhere.

I could talk a lot more about the puzzles and HOG elements, but you've seen them all before. The cutscenes are a little weak (no animation to speak of) and some puzzles are too easy, but for most gamers, Escape The Lost Kingdom will be a smash. Try it NOW!
