Elementals - The Magic Key... I'll let it float in the air for a while, because that's how good the game was. Like your dream guy/girl, it's the sort of game that has it all; great characters, storytelling, game play and graphics. And the sound's pretty epic, as well.
You play Albert, a young wizard, not too far off from Harry Potter (in fact, the whole game looks like a gorgeous cross between the HP series and a Disney movie), who faces an epic task. Albert's sister has gone missing, along with the most powerful key in the land. This magical Key of Eiron holds the balance of fire, water and earth in check, and if it falls into the wrong hands... very bad things will happen.
Albert sets off with his sidekick, a strange floating creature called Felly to find his sister and get the key back. No small feat, and there are great puzzles, mini-games and hidden object searches as well. The game play here is fantastic; there is a grid-based side-game which I haven't seen before in these types of games, and a large variety of puzzles that have a good range of difficulties. There's a really good option of skipping some games if you want to move ahead, and you can play them later on if you want to.
The hidden object searches are all well-thought out; everything belongs there, and is there for a reason. You get to look inside drawers and cabinets, and you're never in one place long enough to get tired of it. Oh, and there are some great creatures here! The huge, imposing golem guards, the fire elementals, and all the characters are interesting. The storyline advances nicely, and the script is concise and well-written.
Elementals - The Magic Key leaves me wanting more, although the game has a satisfying length of about 16 hours. There should be something in it for everyone. It's a beautiful game that was fully developed with care, and it shows in all the elements.
