Your line and hook wave back and forth in the water. Cast by clicking. When you miss, the line comes quickly back, but striking an item means you have to reel it in. This is easy if you catch something good, but it takes ages if you snag a bad item.
There are power-ups in Goldfish Bowl -- land the treasure chest at the bottom of the bowl for a better hook or other goodies. You can sometimes pick up "cut line" powers to cast off a heavy item you hooked by mistake.

The time limit is harsh and makes reaching a level's qualifying score quite tough. The game makes you keep hitting the replay button, so there's nothing fishy about the addictive qualities!
