Aces high... Laura Jones is back in town! If, like me, you missed the first installment, then I can say don't worry -- this is a fine, stand-alone game that did not require any background knowledge. If you DID enjoy the first, then there's more what that came from!
The mystery unfolds on a University campus. Your job is, of course, to piece together the clues and solve the mystery. This usually involves finding a series of hidden objects on the screen, one or two of which may be useful soon afterwards.

One of the fun elements of Laura Jones and the Gates of Good and Evil are the mini-games. These occur each time Laura -- who turns out to be psychic or something -- touches one of the amulets you uncover in the game. Once you defeat a mini-game, you can play it again from the main menu. A nice touch.

You'll meet a variety of characters throughout the game. Most are likeable and all are well-drawn and have well-written dialog. The gameplay itself isn't bad -- a bit too similar to too many HOGs out there. I also didn't like fact that all the dialog was written and you have to do a lot of reading.
The hidden objects are well hidden and the game is enjoyable enough for a four-star rating. Give it a try today at Big Fish Games, or see below to find out how to get the full game FREE from GameHouse.
