Bejeweled is the original incarnation of the species and there is a soothing aspect to its purity of purpose.

Of course you have to match three or more of the same color symbol, by swapping one gem on the screen for another next to it. This makes the matched gems vanish and new ones drop in from the top. Big points and bonus gems come when you wipe out combinations of symbols in the same sequence, or destroy four or more gems in one move.

In normal mode, there's no time limit. In time trial, if you take too long to make your matches, the time will expire and your game ends.
