Autumn's Treasures: The Jade Coin proves that having all the elements for a good HOG doesn't mean it'll be a success. Even the characters seem a bit bored with the story.
Autumn is a young woman who's inherited the family antique business. She finds her granddad's diary, which brings to light an old artifact: the Jade Coin.
This coin is said to bring great fortune to whoever possesses it, and Autumn becomes obsessed in finding it. Clues of its location are dispersed around the world.
The HOG gameplay is like the Mortimer Beckett series; the items found in one location leads you to another, and you must perform certain actions (like turning a light on) to find more objects.
Unfortunately, some locations suddenly gain new objects, and your eye can pick them out quite easily, because you've been staring at the space for so long. It's also not always obvious what to do next; some clues are tucked out of your immediate view.
There are some interesting side games to Autumn's Treasures: the Jade Coin. It has some nice features, but fails to be memorable. Perhaps better characters and tighter story would have helped. It's an okay way to pass an afternoon, though.
