Alexandra Fortune: Mystery of the Lunar Archipelago
Rating out of five:
★★
+ Quick and easy to pick up
– Tiny and blurry graphics
– Generally uninspired game

Alexandra Fortune: Mystery of the Lunar Archipelago may be a real mouthful, but it doesn't taste like much. It has all the elements of the typical adventure HOG; a missing person, old diary, exotic locations and ancient ruins, but doesn't quite come together.
Alexandra's granddad has disappeared, and she finds his journal to locate his whereabouts at an amazing place; the Lunar Archipelago. The places you are taken to aren't just random locations, they are all linked to one another; a bit like Mortimer Beckett games where one particular item will eventually lead you to another.
Unfortunately, Alexandra's character isn't very interesting, and the story isn't very well constructed. These are two fundamental elements for me, at least.
The mini-games are too easy. For example, you must match colored items on a similarly-colored stool. Hints are abundant and the visuals in the scenes pretty forgettable.
Basically, Alexandra Fortune: Mystery of the Lunar Archipelago sounds exciting, but isn't much of an adventure. HOG enthusiasts might be disappointed that the game isn't more special.
